Satellite meeting - Annual meeting of the EMCDDA key indicator ‘Prevalence and patterns of drug use’ (GPS), online expert meeting for IPA beneficiaries

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, some of the EMCDDA activities that were planned to take place between March and May this year have been adapted to an online format. This was the case for the 2020 annual expert meeting on the EMCDDA epidemiological indicator ‘Prevalence and patterns of drug use among the general population’.

The first day of the meeting had a methodological focus – with presentations on hair analyses and randomised response technique. The second day was dedicated to the launch of the third round of the European Web Survey on Drugs (EWSD), which will be carried out in early 2021.

Later on 26 May, the EMCDDA organised its regular satellite meeting for IPA beneficiaries in the margins of the EU expert meeting to discuss the preparations for the implementation of the survey. All six countries will participate in the project.
